The Volkswagen Basic Flex bike carrier is a high-quality, fold-down towbar carrier and impresses with its light weight of just 14kg. The carrier is specially designed for transporting two to three bicycles (max. 60kg).

The genuine VW bike carrier impresses with a sophisticated combination of functionality, safety and comfort. A generous folding angle (up to 90°) with a practical foot pedal allows easy access to the boot even when bicycles are fitted - ideal for vehicles such as the VW Caddy or Multivan. Thanks to the intelligent folding system, the rear lights, bike rails and frame can be completely folded together and stowed in the vehicle to save space. Installation is effortless: the carrier is simply placed on the trailer coupling, fixed in place with a lever and secured with lockable retaining arms. Additional protection is provided by integrated anti-theft protection and a licence plate holder. Removable spacers with ergonomic one-handed operation ensure that the bikes are held securely and also protect the vehicle from damage.

The carrier is only suitable for towbars with a ball head diameter of 50 mm and cannot be combined with aluminium ball heads.

It is also approved for vehicles with a Fix4Bike trailer hitch (AHV).

To avoid damage to the vehicle, it may be necessary to turn the bicycle handlebar by 90° to ensure sufficient clearance between the bicycle and the vehicle.

Please note: On vehicles such as the VW T5, T6 and Caddy, it is not possible to open the tailgate when the carrier is fitted.
